CollegeDream college search and college profile screens on iPhone

A college conversation can begin with one name and quickly fill a whole evening. What could I study there? How far is it from home? When is the application due? By the time the browser has a dozen tabs open, it can be hard to remember the question you started with.

We’re happy to share that CollegeDream is now on the App Store. It gives students and parents a place to explore colleges, build a personal list, and work through the next planning task. The whole experience is available in English and Simplified Chinese.

Begin with what you care about

You might know the kind of place you want before you know its name: a smaller college, a particular part of the country, a subject you would like to explore. CollegeDream lets you search in everyday words and turns that request into filters you can adjust or remove.

Its launch collection covers 118 U.S. colleges, including research universities, liberal arts colleges, science and engineering schools, and art and design schools. It gives a family a starting point for exploration, with room to narrow the search as interests become clearer.

See the college beyond its name

A college profile brings admissions information, testing policy, deadlines, and costs together with a picture of the place itself. You can read about a college’s history, academic strengths, research, student life, and visiting, with photos along the way.

The launch release includes 2026–27 deadlines and costs, with in-state and out-of-state costs shown separately. Figures link to their sources, usually the college’s own website. When a number could not be confirmed, the app directs you to the college’s page.

That makes it easier to move from “I’ve heard of this school” to more useful questions about the experience, the requirements, and what matters to your family.

A list that belongs to you

Save colleges as you explore, mark each one Dream, Target, or Safety, and compare them side by side. These are your planning labels; they are not predictions of an admissions decision. Your list can change as you learn more about what fits.

The rest of the work has a home, too. Eleven planning tasks cover areas such as summer programs, test preparation, essays, and recommendation letters. Each has a short checklist and space for notes. When you open the app, it suggests what to do next.

A shared conversation, in either language

Families do not always think through a big decision in the same language. CollegeDream lets you switch between English and Simplified Chinese at any time, so the same college and the same questions are easier to discuss together.

No account is needed, and there is no tracking. Your profile, college list, and notes stay on your iPhone. College photos download as you browse.

Start with one college, or one question

You do not have to settle the whole future in one sitting. Find a college that interests you. Save it. Read about the campus. Write down the question you want to ask next.

CollegeDream is here to make those small steps easier to keep together. We’re glad to put it in your hands.
